He was predeceased by: his parents, Percy Sims and Jean Sims; his siblings, Wayne Sims and Carolanne Schollart; and his brother-in-law Jack Harris.
He is survived by: his wife Dianne; his children, Jason (Jen Sims) and Haley (Corey McIntyre); his grandchildren, Megan and Nathan; his sister Helen Harris; his sister-in-law Barb Reid; and his nieces and nephews, Randy, Bonnie, Debbie, David, Anita, Shaun, Lance and Shane (Kelly).
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 63 (490 Ontario St, Collingwood, ON L9Y1N6).
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honour Don's memory are invited to donate to Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation in Collingwood, Ontario.
