He is survived by: his wife Susan Shannon; his son Matthew Walach (Emily D'Amato); his former wife Eleanor Simpson; his siblings, Elizabeth Hill (Wayne), Jack Shannon (Jean), Sam Shannon (Alice) and Isabel Shannon; Mark Shannon (Camelia Linta), Heather Short (Howard), Erin Pennacchio (George) and Sean Shannon (Beth). He is also survived by cousin, uncle and great-uncle to many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in George's name to Hospice Georgian Triangle, Campbell House or World Vision Canada.
