He was predeceased by: his parents, George Gieg and Ethel Gieg; his former wife Betty Holroyd; and his siblings, Tom, Grant, Floyd, Phil, Ruth, Grace and Merry.
He is survived by: his siblings, Blake (Marion), Edna Eckes and Janet Juniper; his wife Fay; his stepchildren, Richard Holroyd (Christie) and Susan Holroyd (Salman); his grandchildren, Jessica (Andrew), Sam, Maiya, Safiya and Leila; his great grandchildren, Jack and Stella; and his sisters-in-law, Marg Holroyd and Lillian Hutchinson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
