He was predeceased by: his son James; and his sisters, Islida, Maria and Conceicao. He is survived by: his wife Maria; his sons, John (Mary) and Paul; his grandchildren, Dante and Austyn; his brothers, Jose Bettencourt (Stella) and Manuel Bettencourt (late Laudlinda); and his pet Minnie.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 10th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Fawcett Funeral Homes - Collingwood Chapel (82 Pine St, Collingwood, ON L9Y2N7). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 10th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation in John's memory.
