Chad Gauthier Obituary
Born on March 12, 1984, Chad lived loud, laughed hard, and loved with absolutely everything he had. He was the life of every party, the guy with the biggest smile, the best jokes, and the warmest hugs. Whether you knew him for five minutes or five decades, chances are he left you grinning.
Chad leaves behind his forever dance partner, soulmate, and golf partner, Sharon Gauthier (née van den Oetelaar), and their two incredible sons, Avery Teodoro and Jake Gauthier, who carry his energy, humor, and heart.
He is deeply missed by his parents, Raymond and Nicole Gauthier (née Champagne); his siblings Chantal (Tommy) and André (Sylvie); and his nieces and nephew, Mat, Emma, and Ainsley, who all knew him as the coolest uncle around.
Chad also leaves behind his second family — Sharon's side — who loved him like their own: Cynthia van den Oetelaar (Steve Bigras), and the memory of Theodore van den Oetelaar. He'll be fondly remembered by Tracy (Ray) Bissonette, their children Victoria (Skylar) and Nathan; Chris van den Oetelaar (Lisa), their kids Angelique, Kaleb, Audrée, as well as Emily, and Nicole; and Jason van den Oetelaar (Danielle) and their children Alexandre, Callah, and Robin.
Also cherishing his memory is Kateri, godmother to Chad's beloved son, Jake.
Chad was the guy who made strangers feel like friends, and friends feel like family. He had a way of making everyone feel seen, heard, and appreciated — preferably over a cold drink and a great playlist.
He left us far too soon, but his spirit (and his legendary laugh) will echo through our lives forever. So please, raise a glass, turn up the music, and celebrate a man who truly lived every single day.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, from 2 pm – 4 pm and again from 7 pm-9 pm. The family invites his close friends, who were a huge part of his life to meet again on Thursday, September 25, 2025, between the hours of 9 am – 10:30 am in order to ride with him one last time to St. Mary's Center in Williamstown for his celebration of life. The Celebration of life will begin at 11:00 am, once the processional of all his closest friends has arrived.
