He was predeceased by: his parents, Clair Markell and Grace Thompson; and his sons, Scott, Greg and Norman Markell.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Markell; his son Sheldon Markell; his brother Darwin Markell; his grandchildren, Farrah and Jesse Markell; and his great grandchildren, Bentley and Ford.
