Joan McKenzie Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joan McKenzie (Cornwall, Ontario), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 12, 2025 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Joan had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Joan may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Daniel Richard Shorey and Jane Agnes Barrie; and her husband Grant Harvey McKenzie. She is survived by: her siblings, Elizabeth Nesdoly (Beth), Joseph (Joe) and Richard Shorey (Dick); her daughter Pamela; her son-in-law Brian Snyder; and her grandchildren, Zakary and McKenzie (Brittany). She is also survived by her family, she was not only a mother and grandmother.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) or the Canadian Spondylitis Association (CSA), causes close to her heart.
