She was predeceased by: her husband Melvin Alexander Lafave; her daughter Helen; her parents, Jules Thibeault and Rose Thibeault; and her siblings, Edmond Thibeault (Joan), Edward Thibeault (Connie), Armand Thibeault (late Marilyn), Donalda Rolter (Philip), Vivianne (Claus), Agnes Gaines (Maurice), Verna Dixon (Bill) and Rose Merrit (late Ron).

She is survived by: her children, Melvina Bristow (Brian), Charlene Vervoort (Mike), Keith Lafave (Janice), Nancy Farrlley (Pat), Matthew Lafave (Janet) and Jules Lafave (Cathy); and her sister Debra Rice.
