He was predeceased by : his wife Norma Tyo; his daughter Janice Tyo; his parents, Archibald Tyo and Clara Tyo; and his siblings, George, Rene Tyo and Julia Kyer.

He is survived by : his children, Roy (Nicole), Cheryl-Lynn "Lindy" Cohen, Karen Roth (Justin) and Tammy Legros (François "Frank").
