As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Sylvia may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Wharton and Yvette Wharton (Schryer); and her sister Beverly Burgess (late Tom). She is survived by: her spouse Gerry "Harpo" Harps; and her brother John Wharton (late Carolyn). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Lahaie & Sullivan West Branch (20 Seventh St W, Cornwall, ON K6J 2X7).
In lieu of flowers, donations in Sylvia's memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society; a cause close to the family's heart.
