He was predeceased by: his siblings, Iona Struthers, Clara Manson, Keith, Edward and Alfred Gowdy; and his parents, Charles Gowdy and Rhoda Gowdy.
He is survived by: his wife Louise; his children, Kirk (Angela), Kris and Tina Cowie (John); his grandchildren, Malachi, Jonah Cowie, Kendra and Bryce Gowdy; his sisters, Aleta Ryder and Carolyn Purdy of Kingston; and his nephew Will.
Memorial donations may be made to Trulls Road Free Methodist Church "Building Fund" or to the Bowmanville Rotary Club.
