With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Velma Connelly of Deep River, Ontario, born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, who passed away on September 23, 2021 at the age of 78. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Velma Connelly to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by : her daughter Vanessa Nurse of Kingston, Ontario.; her parents, Zena Williams and Frederick Williams; and her stepfather William Donaldson of Halifax. She is survived by : her husband Douglas Connelly; her child Zena Nurse (Patricia); and her grandchildren, Ely and Tristin Lemon-Nurse. She is also survived by cousins, other family members and many friends.

Maxine Husbands Brown wrote a sympathy message

“Dear Doug. Dear Dawn and extended family. I am Velma’s first cousin and god sister, Maxine Husbands-Brown. I extend to you my deepest thoughts, prayers and family love. I understand that death is promised, and I am very strong in my faith, but, I was shocked and devastated by the passing of Velma. I was stunned and very sorrowful. She was of tremendous support to me last year when I loss my twin Maxwell and six months later my eldest brother. May she rest in peace. God’s blessings. 🙏🏽❤️”
