David Ernest Downey Obituary

Passed away peacefully into the loving arms of his lord and savior on Thursday September 14th, 2023 at his home. Mr. Dave Downey of Delhi formerly of Burlington in his 80th year. Beloved husband of Kathy for 52 years. Loving father of Jenn Truax (Everett) and Beth Curry (Brian). Cherished Grumpa to Crue and Kayleigh. Dear brother to Larry Downey and the late Carole McConnell. Dave will be sadly missed by many other relatives and friends. Dave was retired from Ford Motor Company, Oakville. At Dave’s request cremation has taken place. A private family interment will take place at Burlington Memorial Gardens. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the Ferris Funeral Home, 214 Norfolk St. S., Simcoe (519-426-1314). “Kathy we have such great memories of our time in Sept Iles, PQ with you & all the Davidson family. You were our best baby sitter. Memories continued through the years with marriages & children, several moves for our families up to meeting again in Burlington. Our prayers continue for you & your family as you mourn the loss of Dave. We will have you in our thoughts especially at the celebrate of life, even though we will not be able to attend.
