He was predeceased by: his spouse Marion Smith; his parents, Robert Smith and Ester Smith; his daughter Joanne Hooper; and his siblings, Ruby Rae, Rose Smith, Cora Smith, Bessie Scott, Stan Smith, Tini Rawn, Tilly Smith and Ernie Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Ruthann Smith (Chris Funston), Ellnor (John Van Eck), Elaine (Tim Young), Rosemary Smith, Gayle (Mike Baker) and Dennis (Joanne Hines); his son-in-law Gary Hooper; and his siblings-in-law, Mary Smith, Mervin Scott, Isabel Tiffin, Shirley Hines and Earl Reid.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Diabetes Canada, Kidney Foundation, or South Grey Hunters Association would be appreciated by the family. The family has requested donations be made to the following charities (please choose one).
