He was predeceased by: his wife Peggy Checkley; and his parents, Walter Checkley and Lorene Checkley. He is survived by: his children, Chris, Tanja Checkley, Cindy, Dave Kelly, Dustin and Valerie Checkley; his close friend Beth of Bruyn; and his sister Lynda Richardson. He is also survived by his many nieces nephews and friends.
A masonic service will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 at 6:00 PM at the Arthur Community Centre. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
As expressions of sympathy donations to the Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation or Groves Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
