Fred Benko Obituary
Of Dundas, formerly Simcoe, surrounded by loving family at the Hamilton General Hospital on Monday, February 12th, 2018 in his 89th year. Cherished husband of the late Elsie Benko (2017). Loving father & grandfather of Brian Benko of Dundas, his daughters Alexandra & Emma; and Mark Benko of London, his sons Jacob & Gavin.
Fred will be lovingly remembered by his siblings Pat Gesner (late Jim) of Toronto, Anne Banko of Dundas, Joseph Banko (Lois) of Brantford and by many nieces, nephews & extended family. Fred will be sadly missed by his daughters-in-law Jill Charbonneau & Sherry Benko. Predeceased by his brother John Banko (late Frances). Friends are invited to share their memories of Fred with his family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe for visitation on Thursday, February 15th, 2018 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 211 Union St. Simcoe on Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Alan Dufraimont as celebrant. Interment of ashes: Oakwood Cemetery, Simcoe at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to donate in memory of Fred are asked to consider the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
