It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Whitney of Dundas, Ontario, who passed away on May 22, 2026, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his granddaughter Rachel; his brother David; his sister-in-law Fay; his sister Ruth Long; and his parents, Wesley Whitney and Jean Whitney.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Whitney; his children, Steven (Gwen), David (Joan), Mark (Joanne), Jamie (Patrick), Jean (Dave), Michael (Julie), Cameron (Edith) and Seth (Bonnie); his grandchildren, Erin, Mallory, Colleen, Ryan, Jack, Emily, Amaya and Eliana; his great grandchildren, Illa, Myra and Will; his brother-in-law Bill Long; his nephews, Tom and Jim Long; and his niece Debbie Wilson.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 28th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Marlatt Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (195 King St W, Dundas, ON L9H1V5).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
