She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert King Walters and Harriet Fuller Walters; and her brother Geoffrey King Walters of Houston, Texas.. She is survived by: her sister-in-law Jeanette Walters; her brother Robert Stephen Walters (Linda Walters) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.; her children, Eric Schmidt (Ellen Primack), Rob Kristofferson (Rebecca Godderis) and Susan Kristofferson; her grandsons, Henry and Edwin Kristofferson; and her significant other McMaster. She is also survived by her family, friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to Margaret's Place Hospice at St. Joseph's Villa in Dundas, Ontario.
