Tjitze Baarda Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Tjitze Baarda (Dunnville, Ontario), who passed away on July 11, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Simon Baarda and Attje Baarda; his siblings, Clara Schilstra (Harry) and Neil Baarda; and his siblings-in-law, John DeRuiter (Linda), Al DeRuiter, Henk DeRuiter and Herm DeRuiter.
He is survived by: his wife Irene; his children, Hilda VanSoelen (Carl), Stan Baarda (Bobbi-Jo), Richard Baarda, Ed Baarda (Beth), Astrid Baarda and Paula Baarda; his grandchildren, Carl, Julie, Larissa, James, Melinda, Brittany, Branden, Brady, Owen, Jackson and Hudson; his siblings, Clarence Baarda (Ann), John Baarda (Barb), Dan Baarda (Dianne), Reinder Baarda (Diana) and Meta Baarda (Rob); his siblings-in-law, Diane VanBeek (Bert), Henny Uyl (Lawrence), Hilly Gaskin (Paul), Sharon DeRuiter and Brenda DeRuiter; and his daughter Irene. He is also survived by his brothers helped his father build a barn on their family.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations for Dunnville Hospital & Healthcare Foundation.
