She was predeceased by: her husband Benedictus "Dick" DeRuyte; and her father James Reed. She is survived by: her children, Angela DeRuyte and Michael DeRuyte (Kimberly); her grandchildren, Cameron, Adam and Chelsea; her mother Norma Reed; her siblings, Nancy Johnson (Ernie), Vickie Lapiere-White, Randall Reed (Lisa) and Gary Reed; and her close friends, Bev Wood, Deb and Mike Johnson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith Baptist Church in Echo Bay, Ontario or to the St. Michael's Hospital Foundation – Cardinal Carter Wing.
