It is with great sorrow that the family announce the passing of Edward MacLean at the St. Joseph’s Gen. Hospital in Elliot Lake, Ontario on Friday September 13, 2024 at the age of 86 ½. Born March 13, 1938 and raised in Sydney Mines, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia by his predeceased parents, Lieutenant Edward Clarence MacLean & Edith MacLean (Abbott; Ford; Mercer). Edward then moved, raised a family, and spent many great years in Collingwood, Ontario & Elliot Lake, Ontario. Predeceased by his spouse Mary Genevieve MacLean and survived by his partner June Liscumb. Loving father of Matthew MacLean (husband Jamie Heimbecker - Owen Sound, ON), Dawn MacLean (fiancé Aleksandar Djurdjevic - Elliot Lake, ON), Stanley MacLean (wife Stephanie O'Neil - Welland, ON). Grandfather of Zachary MacLean, Ethan Tuck & Soarin MacLean. Dear brother of Kay Gorman (Sydney, NS), Jean Aylward (Toronto, ON), Arthena Froude (Barton, NL) and predeceased by Donald MacLean and Arthur Mercer.
