He was loved and cherished by many people including : his wife Elaine Hicks; his children, Kim Ducharme (Stephen) of Azilda, Sandra Lavoie (Mike) of Elliot Lake, Barry Allan of Sault Ste and Marie; his grandchildren, Debra, Chris, Liz, Stephanie and Jason; his stepgrandchildren, Angela and Charlie; his parents, Ivan Redmond and Mary Redmond; and his siblings, Harold Redmond (Pauline), Jerry Redmond (Rita Ann), Marlene Doyle, Margaret "Peggy" Redmond, Frank Redmond and Mary Beth McGuirk (Joseph). He was also cherished by numerous nephews and nieces.
