She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Atton and Jean Atton (Whitehead); and her siblings-in-law, Annette Atton, Richard Ahrens and Jim Messerschmidt.
She is survived by: her husband Paul Messerschmidt; her granddaughter Susan; her children, Christopher Messerschmidt (Lesa) of Hanover, Lindsay Trimble (Kyle) of Penetanguishene and Kerri LeLiever (Greg) of Walkerton; her grandchildren, Makayla, Colton, Ally, Cameron, Kaidance, Owen and Raena; her siblings, Mark Atton and Janet Coulter (Tom); and her sisters-in-law, Judy Schreinert (Ron), Wendy Ahrens, Faye Lantz (Paul), Lorie Jarvis (Allen) and Bonnie Becker-Messerschmidt.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 10th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Rhody Family Funeral Home (65 4th St SW, Chesley, ON N0G 1L0). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. John's Lutheran Church (12 Dirstein St S, Elmwood, ON N0G1S0).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. John's Lutheran Church, Chesley Hospital Foundation or Grey Bruce Hospice (Chapman House) would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
