With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joseph Ysbrand Smit of Embro, Ontario, who passed away on December 21, 2022 at the age of 65. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Miritza Smit-Urrieta; his children, Justin, Ryan and Hillary Smit; his siblings, Ineke (Jos), Eric (Janette) and Annemieke (Roy); his parents, Leo Smit and Annie Smit-Hemels of Holland; and his extended family Venezuela. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
