He was predeceased by: his daughter Cheryl Symington (Bob); and his brothers, Melvin A. Matheson (late Bev) and Doug Matheson (Jackie). He is survived by: his children, Shawn Matheson (Tamie Fulford), Dean Matheson (Julie) and Mark Matheson; his grandchildren, Taylor Matheson, Russel Innes, Mackenzie Innes, Hayley Matheson, Thomas "Tom" Matheson (Trish Jeans), Jayde Matheson (Elijah Whetstone), Emma Johnstone, Jack Matheson and Adele Matheson; and his siblings, Connie Lauder (John), Glen Matheson (Sharon) and Jim Matheson (Gerda).
