She was predeceased by: her husband Valerian Smith; and her children, Sherri-Lynn Smith, Kimberly Anne Smith, Bradford Smith, Patrick Smith and Elliot Smith.

She is survived by: her sister Elizabeth Dinsmore; her son Kevin Smith; her grandchildren, Azure (Jon), Billy-Jo (Sabrina), Natasha (Joel), Sheena (Kyle), Kyle, Naomi, Nina, Courtney (Thomas), Tyler, Helleena (Dylan), Ian (Kayla) and Jolene; and her child Anishinaabemowin. She is also survived by grandchildren as well as one great-great grandchild.
