He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Kleofas Halas and Anna Halas (Bator); his children, Debra (late Ted Ophelders), Paula (Jaan Vaikla) and Paul Halas (Donna Bovair); and his great grandchild Jaxson Wheeler. He was also cherished by his many nieces, nephews and extended family.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
