He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Scopie and Elizabeth Scopie (Hyden-Melanson); his grandparents, Mike, Isabell Scopie (Poplar), William and Marion Hyden (Spencer); his siblings, Michael Scopie, Thomas Melanson and Sandra Libby (Melanson); his nephew Daniel Melanson; and his siblings-in-law, Larry Bester, Gordon Libby, Fred Brown and Rose Melanson.
He is survived by: his siblings, Sonia Bester, Darlene Mitchell (Neil) of Joggins, NS, Jean-Marie Scopie of Oxford, NS, Pamela Brown (Steve MacLeod) of Amherst, NS and Bernard Melanson of Joggins, NS.; his nieces and nephews, Michelle, Linda, Charlene, Jack, Sarah, Kayla, Matthew, Tommy, Shane, Dane, Zachary and Jordan; his great-nieces, Olivia, Emma and Jenna; and his great-nephew Luke. He is also survived by his family and his friends.
