He was predeceased by: his wives, Kathy Mercer and Barbara Ann Mercer; his daughter Lynne McDonald (Gord); and his brother Bobby. He is survived by: his children, Brian and Becky Mercer; his grandchildren, Wade, Jessica McDonald, Brett, McKensey McDonald, Cole McDonald, Nimi Bassi, Carly Mercer, Reid Oliver, Cayley, Justin Boye, Cullen Mercer and Megan Dalrymple; his great grandchildren, Daxton, Penelope McDonald, Graham Oliver and Lawson Boye; his brother Arthur Mercer; his sister-in-law Bernadette Mercer; and his friends, Doug, Marylou Dixon, Dave "Stretch", Laura Dohnt, Ray and Mary Perry. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, November 14th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Haskett Funeral Home (456 Main St S, Exeter, ON N0M1S6).
