He is survived by : his children, Hilary (Pat) and David (Joanna); his grandchildren, Sophie, Lucas, Brock and Sarah; and his sisters, Betty Decent (Bob) and Maureen Davis (Dave).

“Brian and I go back 40 years. Met him while teaching at St. Catharines Collegiate in 1982. We became close friends over the years, and we relied on each other for support whenever needed. Since I live around the corner from St. Patrick St, we visited often. Brian and I went east to PEI twice in the late 1990s to eat lobster and visit his friends--great memories of these trips. I spent a week with Brian at his condo in Fort Myers Beach. At Christmas I would bring over tortiere. Miss you!”
