He was predeceased by: his parents, Edna Butler and James Butler; and his son Jason. He is survived by: his wife Linda; his son Jeff (Clara); his grandchildren, Sebastian and Stella; and his sister Darlene Butler.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to the Ontario Rett Syndrome Association or, in the U.S., the Rett Syndrome Research Trust would be greatly appreciated.
