He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Kathleen McKenzie; his daughter Cindy (Bob Baptiste) of Fenelon Falls; his grandchildren, Courtney (Aaron Woodward), Sierra Thurston (Matt Johnson), Cassidy Thurston (Zach Buchan), Savannah Thurston (Austin Woodward), Caitlin Baptiste (Jake Donovan), Rowen, Holden, Navy, Leland, Raelynn, Rhett, Ryden, Ruby and Harvey; his parents, Harry Hammond and Violet Hammond; and his siblings, Marilyn (Paul McInnis), Carolyn (Dan Collings), Jim, John, Ken, Tom, Reg and Tim. He was also cherished by his brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at 768 County Rd 121, Kawartha Lakes, ON K0M1N0.
