He was predeceased by : his parents, Albert Rae and Emma Rae; his siblings, Norma, Delton (Fern), Shirley (Lloyd), Bob, Betty, Mary Lou (Gordon) and Dorothy; and his siblings-in-law, Alice Rae, Donald Jackson and Ross Bradshaw.

He is survived by : his wife Marilyn (Hunter); his children, Jeff, Melanie Rae of Chilliwack, BC, Sherri and Ron Martin of Drayton, ON; his grandchildren, Shae, Edgar, Josh and Jacob; his siblings, Carson (Norma), Ormand, Laverne (Irene), David (Ruth) and Edna Jackson; and his parents-in-law, Bob, Eileen Renton, Stan Groff, Eileen Rae, Eddie Ferguson and Gwen Bradshaw. He is also survived by nieces & nephews.

As expressions of sympathy donations can be made to Hospice Wellington and the Mark Preece Family House in Hamilton.

“Marilyn, Jeff and Melanie, Sherri and Ron and your families... It was a shock to hear of your sudden, unexpected loss of Arnold, much-loved husband, Dad, and grandpa!! We are SO SORRY and we pray that you will feel God's nearness and His comfort as you say goodbye here, knowing that you'll meet again in heaven. We have good memories of being neighbours in Elmira and have a stool that Arnold made years ago, still used in our den. With our deepest sympathy, Murray and Gale Smith”
