She was predeceased by : her daughter Jackie; her parents, George Sharer and Eleanor Sharer; and her sister Joy Smith. She is survived by : her daughter Cathy Sweeney; her grandchildren, Tanya, Andre, Trina and Chris; her great grandchildren, Emma, Andy, Sam and Charlie; and her siblings, Jackie, Hugh, Bob and Carol.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joan may be made to St. James Anglican Church.
