He was predeceased by: his daughters, Dana and Katrina; his parents, Robert Mark Downs and Jean Kathleen Downs; and his parents-in-law, Bob and Doris Maude.
He is survived by: his spouse Pat Downs; his son Matt (Crystal Downs); his granddaughter Josie Downs; his siblings, Marilyn, Len (Robin) and Mary (Steve); his siblings-in-law, Celia, Cathy, Eloise, Dianne, Janine (John), Bev (Greg), Robin (Doug) and Bob (Susan); his niece Madison; his siblings, Bill, Bob, Shirley, Earlene and Donny; and his brothers-in-law, Roger and Terry.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, November 4th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Fergus Royal Canadian Legion Branch 275 (500 Blair St, Fergus, ON N1M1S4).
In memory of John, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the SickKids Foundation.
