The memory of Richard Van Grootheest (Fergus, Ontario), who passed away on March 30, 2026 at the age of 54, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. Though Richard may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Richard touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

He is survived by: his wife Josie Van Grootheest; his stepson John Paul Mendoza; and his mother Ina Medemblik (John). He is also survived by brothers, sisters, in laws, nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to Guelph and Area Right to Life.
