He is survived by : his wife Deborah Middlemiss; his granddaughters, Emily, Kate, Abigail and Maggie Jo; and his siblings, Susan Dickie, David Dickie (Cathy), Stephen Dickie (Sue), Janet Mullins and Jeffrey Dickie. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, co-workers and friends.

“My condolences go out to Deborah and Mike's siblings. The last time that I visited their place, being 50 years after the first time (then simply known to us youth as "the cottage"), Mike told me that he had recently bought a pontoon boat which he described as "my retirement gift to myself". He would beam as he helped to ferry some of the cadre of Deborah's aquacize participants around their little section of the Ottawa River. R.I.P to both Mike and the cat.
