He was predeceased by: his wife Karen Smith (Welland); his parents, Leonard Smith and Mary Smith; and his sisters, Marie, Carol and Katherine (Kay).
He is survived by: his sisters, Eleanor McDonell and Lynda Boncheff; his grandchildren, Emily Newman (Josh Penny), Andrew Newman and Olivia Newman; and his son-in-law Ed Farnsworth. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
