It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Maria Melo in Forest, Ontario, who passed away on September 27, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Joao T De Melo; her brothers, Manuel Sousa Ferreira, Jose Francisco Sousa Ferreira and Alvaro Sousa Ferreira; and her parents, Manuel Sousa Ferreira and Conceicao Sousa Ferreira.
She is survived by: her sisters, Isabel Sousa Ferreira and Lucinda Sousa Ferreira; her children, Maria Carmo Melo (Jose) and John Melo (Jane); her grandchildren, Terry, Patricia, Justin, Eric, Crystal, Paige and Ava; and her great grandchildren, Keenan, Sydney, Mateus, Ashton, Tikko, Vincent, Yandel and Mya.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Corbett Funeral Home (95 Dundas St N, Cambridge, ON N1R5N6). A rosary will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 at 8:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 at 10:00 AM and at 11:00 AM at the Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church (185 Elgin St S, Cambridge, ON N1R7C8). A burial will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the New Hope Cemetery (235 Cooper St, Cambridge, ON N3C2J9).
In leu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada.
