He was predeceased by : his wife Helen Prong (Devine); his children, Ang Charrette and Steve; and his parents, Mabel Prong (Fenn) and Russell Prong.

He is survived by : his sons, Greg Prong (Tamasine), Doug Prong (Tisha) and Mike Charrette (Cindy Lane); his daughter-in-law Kerri Prong; his parents-in-law, Phyllis, Jim Ketchabaw, Kathy, Lee Ketchabaw, Marilyn Devine, Bonnie Devine and Elizabeth Devine; his siblings, Doreen Baldwin (Ron), Wilf Prong (late Gina Prong) and Billy; and his parents-in-law, Ray, Viola Devine, Patricia Gervais (Laurent), Mike Devine (Shirl), Jeannine Campbell (Fred), Philip, Linda Devine, Terry Devine and Dan Devine.

For those who wish, memorial donations to St. Joseph's Hospice of Sarnia or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family.

Rick Vanos wrote a sympathy message

“Ross and Helen were very welcoming to us at their home in the 70s while we were in high school and post secondary. We spent time with Steve and Ang and the crew of friends. Always a pleasant conversation anytime we met, be it the arena or Tim Hortons. Ross was a wonderful man and his calm demeanor and sense of humour will be missed but will carry on through Greg, Doug and all the grandchildren who seemed to be lucky enough to get that Prong humour gene.
