He is survived by: his wife Carolyn; his children, Clint, Missy (Lars) and Laura (Tom); his grandchildren, Sage, Solomon (Katie), Sophia, Simon and Isabella; his siblings, Glen (Janet), William and Cheryl; and his sister-in-law Lorraine (Rick).

“If you are a Lown , I have known and loved you , since I was a teenager . Like so many of Gilbert and Carols friends , calling for an invitation to visit was not necassary . You knew when you knocked on their door , that you would be welcomed with a smile , hug and an invitation to come in . A short visit often turned into a long one and you always left , feeling spedial . Gilbert was compassionate , self depricating and truly in love with Carol and his family . I will love You forever . David”
