She was predeceased by: her husband Alvin Steckley; her parents, Howard and Elva; her siblings, Lester, Lamar, Miriam and Leroy; her daughter-in-law Sharon; and her adoptive mother Vietnamese.
She is survived by: her children, David Steckley (Evelyn), Susan McQuade and Philip Steckley (Margaret); her grandchildren, Erin, Sean, Cameron, Claire and Maeve; her brothers, Howard, Hubert (Bev) and Kenneth Fretz (Jill); and her sisters-in-law, Mary Fretz and Eileen Fretz. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Benner Funeral Services (1105 Benner Ave, Fort Erie, ON L2A4N8). A funeral service was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
If so desired, donation may be made to the Mennonite Central Committee, or Camp Kahquah, and would be appreciated by her family.
