He was predeceased by: his wife Elaine Carpenter; his sister Sandra Merko; his siblings-in-law, Doris Brown, Stan Brown, Steve Crawford, Dennis Carpenter and Delbert Merko; and also, Richard Carpenter and Elizabeth Carpenter.

He is survived by: his children, Randy Jackie (Connie) and Rick Jackie (Twila); his significant other Kathy; his grandchildren, Brody, Brayden Hogan, Nathan Hogan, Ethan and Joclyn Armit; his great grandchild Charlie Armit; and his siblings, Bob Hogan (Marie), Lynne Crawford, Joanne Hodgins, Janice Carpenter, Mike Hogan (Dan) and Jeff Hogan (Carol). He is also survived by numerous nieces & nephews.
