Though Catherine may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Catherine touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her husband Stephen McNeil; her parents, Mary Laird and Donald Laird; and her sister Ronalda Laird. She is survived by: her children, Stephenie McNeil (Daniel) and Katie DesRochers (Peter); and her granddaughters, Rose and Charlotte DesRochers. She is also survived by five siblings and many neices and nephews.
It was Catherine's wish to raise awareness about the importance of organ and blood donation, how it ensures that more lives can be saved and more families can find hope in difficult times. Memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
