He was predeceased by : his father Daniel Simon; and his granddaughter Aria. He is survived by : his mother Caroline Miller; his daughters, Brooke and Emily Simon; his children-in-law, Jerit and Maurice; his stepdaughters, Jade and Harley Nicholl-Carne; and his siblings, Sonja Moore, Benjamin Simon and Corey Haldimand. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

As expressions of sympathy, donations made in Shaun's memory to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

“My deepest condolences to Shaun’s family from a loss of a great person. I had the pleasure growing up with him and he was such a great friend. But like all friends we lost contact after school. I was able to talk to him a couple of times over the years. But time got away from us everyone thinks there is still lots of time but tomorrow is never promised.”
