He was predeceased by: his father Vince Dowhanek; and his sister Peggy Barkhouse. He is survived by: his wife Tina Dowhanek; his children, Nicholas Dowhanek and Brianna Pelletier (Brian); his stepchildren, Matthew Soloway, Benjamin Soloway and Candace Miousse (Sonny); his grandchildren, Isabella Soloway, Rachelle Miousse, Arielle Miousse, Julia Miousse, Edward Pelletier and Emelia Pelletier; his mother Jeannette Dowhanek; his sister Linda Soulliere; and his brothers-in-law, Terry Soulliere and Perry Barkhouse.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Tbaytel Tamarack House, or to the Geraldton Faith Chapel.
