He was predeceased by : his parents, Donald Sutherland and Marilyn Sutherland; his siblings, Grant, Donna and Wanda; and his uncle John.

He is survived by : his wife Catherine Sutherland; his children, Allison, Emily and Mackenzie; his close friends, Cody, Matthew and Lysander; his siblings, Heather, Douglas (Sandra), Kathryn (Gerard), William and Wendy; and his aunt Barb. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
