With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Nel Boven (Goderich, Ontario), who passed away on December 29, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Gerrit Boven; and her brother Isaak Broere (Anneke). She is survived by: her children, Joanne, Norman Heimpel of Seaforth, Karl, Anita Boven of Auburn, Peter, Marissa Boven of Toronto, Elizabeth and Oscar Van Den Assem (ON) of Wyoming; her grandchildren, Krista Heimpel (Wayne Babineau), Edward Heimpel, Adam Heimpel (Andrea Ferin), Nicholas Heimpel, Matthew Boven (Amy), Brendon Boven (Kim), Tyler Boven (Leah), Alex Boven, Elizabeth Boven, Gerrit Boven, Joshua Van Den Assem, Mandy Van Den Assem, Chantelle Van Den Assem, Helaina Heimpel, Claire, Jacob Babineau, Sage Heimpel, Sebastian, Alora, Vivian Boven, Janie Boven, Ryker, Rhett Boven and Eden Rainey; and her siblings, Rijk Broere (Letty) and Meta Postuma (Arend).
Visitation was held on Friday, January 2nd 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Blyth Christian Reformed Church (354 Queen St, Blyth, ON N0M1H0). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 2nd 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
