He was predeceased by : his parents, Clayton Slomke and Ruby Slomke (Strain); his siblings, Carl, George, Clayton and Harriet Chisholm; and his siblings-in-law, Floyd Walker and Patricia Bird.

He is survived by : his wife Sheila; his children, Doug (Susan Everett) and Shawna Giesler (Mark); his grandchildren, Hailey, Tori and Currie; his sister-in-law Bernadette Walker; his nephew John (Jackie); and his great-nephews, Nicholas and Adam. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
