He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Thornton and Mary Thornton (McInnes); and his sisters, Evelyn Thornton and Shirley Whitehead. He is survived by: his children, Ashley, Bob Finlay of London, Morgan Thornton of Wingham, Brooke Thornton and Kathryn Faries of Ayton; his grandchildren, Kaylee, Addison, Trenton, Halle, Mylah and Malia; his siblings, Helen (Gary Edge), Don (Tena Thornton), Allan Thornton, Mae Hutchison (Glen Gallaher) and Dianne Krotz; and his sibling-in-law Glenn Whitehead.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) would be appreciated.
